126 Shrewsbury Avenue Red Bank, New Jersey
Maybe you had the day off for Columbus Day; we unloaded a container full of furniture...So hurry in for the best selection. We got some lovely coffee tables, a great selection of antique Hungarian chests of drawers and cupboards and a few pieces in terrific original paint. Take a look at our antique pine page for a sampling of what came in.
The great thing about decorating in the 21st century is there are no rules...if you like vintage and he likes modern--no sweat--it is the mix that matters...If you put a more casual table in the dining room you might actually use it. Life is stressful enough that you shouldn't have to worry about staging your meals. Forget the table pads and the table cloths, big old upholstered chairs and dated carpet. Simplify your seating, get down to your hardwoods or go buy something sea grass for the floor and invite your friends over. Now.
Chances are if you found our web site your house is already amazing! But who can resist the urge to tweak? Some blue & white pots, a fab photo for over the mantle, a new coffee table...just one thing can make a huge difference.
And big news...the classic pine farmhouse table is back! It's not that we lost our way; it's just that there is only so much room in our store. Anyway this is in stock and there are more in the warehouse...we can paint the bases or leave them natural. The one shown in the photo is 78"w x 42"d x 30"h.
CLOSED SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS!!!!
After 27 years of being open 7 days a week, we decided it was time to take some days off.
We are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 to 5.
If those hours don't work for you, please call the store, 732 530 0685, to make an appointment. We can meet you there almost any time. (And at the risk of confusing matters, we are often here on Sundays and Mondays so if you are in the neighborhood you can stop by or give us a call and see if we are, indeed, at the store...)
And please remember at British Cottage we decide what we stock:Whether it is our design, antique, or a bench made reproduction, our furniture
Because we spent a good part of the last twenty eight years buying container loads of antique European furniture, we are really good at finding the newly made items that are unique and special--before they get copied and dumb-downed by the big chain stores and catalogues. Whether traveling in England or on the continent or at market in North Carolina it is classic style, weathered wood and handmade construction that appeals to us.
While we miss the absolute uniqueness of an antique piece, we appreciate the stability, functionality and pricing that comes with new furniture.
We like to think we are selling the antiques of tomorrow.
We offer free local delivery service and charge just our costs for deliveries farther away.
We also can arrange long distance moves for you.
