Our new shipment from Europe is in the store.  Here is a preview of several new items:

We've been admiring the x-leg trestle tables for some time but they were always too big or too

dark or too something.  So we made our own.  Solid Scandanavian pine from a managed forest,

this one is 96" x 40" but we can make this in any size you need.

Our couches are about the same price but made in the USA with hardwood frames that have a lifetime warranty and you get to choose whether you want slipcovers or upholstery.  All our furniture is made with solid wood--not veneers--and is meant to last for generations!

 Our lamps and accessories are chosen for their timelessness.   We are never trendy; in fact

 we adore the classics--most anything antique, oversized chandeliers, farmhouse tables, painted furniture,

Chinese porcelain jars, blue and white lamps.  We love things that are beautiful--and functional.

Featured table of the week:

     With a rustic, reclaimed pine top and a slightly distressed painted base our table would be

as at home in your foyer as it would be behind the couch or as a serving table in the dining room.

Couches and Chairs

We're showing linen slipcovers and ruffled skirts but you can chose what you like...

denims, patterns, velvets, more tailored skirts, legs--or we can upholster.

Possibly because we spent over twenty five years buying container loads of antique

European furniture, at British Cottage we are really good

at finding the newly made items that are unique and special--before they get

 copied and mass produced by the big chain stores and catalogues.   Whether traveling in England or on the

continent or at market in North Carolina it is the classic style of weathered wood and handmade construction that appeals to us.  While we miss the absolute uniqueness of an antique piece, we appreciate the stability, functionality and pricing that comes with new furniture.

We like to think we are selling the antiques of tomorrow.
