Well the good news is we all survived Mother's Day without a trip to Sickles...Hopefully it will get sorted out soon because I have no idea where I am going to buy my fresh corn if they don't! And, on a more serious note, it is painful to think of what their family must be going through. While Keith and I can attest that the vicissitudes of owning a small business are many, one of the benefits of having a furniture store is that unlike produce, furniture does not have a sell buy date. When someone asks Keith how long we have had a certain item in stock he usually says it's not milk so who cares? Snarky, maybe, but in fact a quick turnover is less important to us than selling a worthy product that will last not just a season or two, but for generations.

Meanwhile I hope you are enjoying Spring in all its glory. Who doesn't love the longer days and warmer weather? The only downside may be, suddenly, with all this abundant natural light, you are starting to notice that things on the homefront are looking a bit tired--but not to worry.

Just zip into British Cottage! We're not just a furniture store; we have a curated selection of artwork: prints, photography and paintings for a quick (and affordable) refresh. Or maybe you just need some blue and white ginger jars for the mantle, or a couple of toss pillows--we've got that covered too.

Questions? Design dilemmas? That's what we are here for. Let's face it, you can only get so much design inspiration from a web site or Pinterest--and it's always better to see (and sit on) furniture in person. Not sure where to park? There are no restrictions on the street but if you'd rather not deal with the traffic we have a few parking spaces behind the store and we promise if you can get in we can get you out!
